SIVV will hold its 36th annual Christmas Fantasy on the 2nd Saturday, December 12, 2009.  The highlights of the event includ six professionally decorated trees. The event will be held in the brand new Victorville Golf Course dining area.
 

 

One of SIVV's long-term projects is providing teddy bears to children in traumatic situations which are delivered by local fire departments and ambulance services.  Disbursement of 2008-09 trauma bears took place on October 15.

Horseracing

The 1st annual Horseracing was held on May 30, 2009.   Highlights included a silent auction, food, and lots of door prizes.  Six horses were auctioned off and attendees were paid for each win and each winning horse.

    We had lots of fun.

2008 Golden West Spring Conference

The 3rd annual Health Faire was held on March 7 and was a huge success. Many door prizes were given away and over 40 vendors  participated. The growth of this event made it necessary
to move to the San Bernardino Fairgrounds.  More info will be available for our next one after January 1.  Mark your calendars now for the next event on March 6!

SI Victor Valley Trauma Bear Presentation

Soroptimist Int’l of Victor Valley donates 600

trauma bears for emergency situations!!
 

For the past five years, Soroptimist International of Victor Valley has been supplying High Desert emergency vehicles with teddy bears.  These bears are given to children to calm them in traumatic situations such as domestic violence in the home, car crashes and other accidents or distressing circumstances they may incur.  Standing from left to right:  Aldysius Bashaw, San Bernardino County Fire Department – Hesperia; Daniel Arias, also from SBC Fire Department; and Manny Escamilla from American Medical Response (AMR).  Seated: Pat Mason, Trauma Bear Chairperson, Soroptimist International of Victor Valley. 

The San Bernardino County Fire Department in Hesperia received 120 teddy bears while American Medical Response received 480 bears.   The SBCFD – Hesperia distributes the bears in Hesperia only and American Medical Response (AMR) distributes the bears throughout the rest of the High Desert.
